theory 8 manages bands, too
De Novo Dahl
De Novo Dahl
After releasing their massive double album, Cats & Kittens on theory 8 records in 2005, the band went back in the studio in 2006 to begin working on their sophomore album. Instead of approaching theory 8 to release the album, the band decided to have label owner Aaron Hartley manage them, thus giving birth to theory 8 artist management. In less than 6 months of their new relationship with Hartley, De Novo Dahl signed a deal with Roadrunner Records.
Forget Cassettes / Beth Cameron
Forget Cassettes / Beth Cameron
After two albums and one single EP release with theory 8 records, Beth Cameron's musical endeavor, Forget Cassettes recently inked an international deal with One Little Indian and Tangled Up Recordings in 2007. Tangled Up will re-release Forget Cassettes' sophomore album, Salt, originally released in the United States by theory 8 records. In support of the album release, Forget Cassettes will be touring Europe with Interscope's And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead in February and March. The band will be embarking on a West Coast tour of the United States in April.
The Nobility
The Nobility
The Nobility are based in Nashville, TN and are quite possibly better known as Jetpack, the original name chosen over five years ago.

Due to legal disputes over the name Jetpack, the guys have decided to move on as The Nobility and are putting the final touches on their new LP "The Mezzanine". Look for a July release and Summer/Fall touring.

The Mezzanine by The Nobility
The Mezzanine by The Nobility

The Mezzanine, the new LP from Nashville's The Nobility is available today!

You can purchase the album online...a "classic" CD copy from the band's site and also digitally from iTunes. (Links below)

We are celebrating the release in Nashville with a FREE in store at Grimey's Records off 8th Ave at 6pm. This will be your first chance to purchase the album and the last chance to see the band before heading out on tour!

If you've spent too much time in your life dissecting "Temporary Secretary" by Paul McCartney, you'll love this record. BUT, even if you're wondering just what we're talking about in that last sentence, The Mezzanine is the perfect tutor to classic pop like you haven't heard in a very long time.

The press is all ready coming in...

"...a band making big strides with a sound that appears increasingly unique as it becomes more 'classic.'" - The Nashville Rage

"...there's a lot here to proffer that this quintessentially Nashville indie-pop record could be the sleeper that makes a lot end-of-the-year lists." - The Nashville Scene

"The songs on the...The Mezzanine...come off appropriately grand and well-appointed, thick organ runs tracing the melodic bones like gold necklaces, flutes swirling like silk scarves and, in the album's prettiest places, thick reverb opening up a cathedral of classic-pop depth." - The Tennessean

"And the Disc of the Day belongs not to one of our Big Names, but to the upstarts of The Nobility... Buy and believe. Quite an amazing arrangement accomplishment. These are brilliantly crafted tracks... Think Sgt. Pepper era Beatles or mid-period Kinks and you'll have the general idea... This is one highly addictive record." - Music Row Magazine
